Ian who has been voted Acoustic Artist of the year by the British Blues Foundation for the third time in 2016 is one of the most gifted singers & writers in contemporary blues today.
Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and Tom Waite all have had a great influence to his style of singing and playing. When touring as a duo with Big Bill Morganfield (son of Muddy Waters) he said “If my daddy were alive today he’d say: That’s my boy!”
Two successive European tours (2003/4) opening for ex-Rolling Stone Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings brought him to the attention of a wider audience. This was followed by UK tours as a duo with Big Bill Morganfield (son of Muddy Waters, the man who Siegal calls The Blues God). During this time Siegal was also capturing the hearts of audiences in Holland, Belgium, Austria and Hungary. In 2005 he topped the Soul/Blues/Jazz charts in Holland and in 2006 he debuted in the USA, appearing at major clubs and the largest music festival on the West Coast.
Now living in the Netherlands Ian commands appearances on larger festival stages such as Edinburgh, Lugano, Peer, North Sea Jazz – establishing him as one of the most natural, exciting and vibrant talents on the scene today.
We are very lucky to have him playing on this one off trip to England on our Blues Cruise. His live show is awash with wit and attitude and our advice is to get you ticket for this performance quickly as it will be a sell out and numbers are limited to the boats capacity.
See Ian on The Blues Cruise on Saturday 24th March.
