George Shovlin & George Lamb

Outstanding NE blues performers George Shovlin and George Lamb – Shovlin emerging from the then vibrant folk club scene, when he supported American blues legends Doctor Ross, Dave ‘Honeyboy’ Edwards, Cousin Joe Pleasant, George GP Jackson, Eddie ‘Guitar’ Burns, as well as British legends Eric Burdon, Jo-Anne and Dave Kelly and Isaac Guillory – and Lamb from the NE blues-rock scene, first as a member of the hugely successful NE-based band ‘Southbound’ and then, after playing with various bands, doing considerable session work, including recording with Jimmy Nail, writing a hit for Kiki Dee, playing in the Eurythmics support band for their last world tour, before finally joining up with Shovlin in the George Shovlin Blues Band in 1996, and then in 2014, the nationally-acclaimed ‘George Shovlin and The Radars. With George Shovlin’s powerful blues voice and George Lamb’s amazing guitar playing, this duo is about to take the British blues scene by storm.
George Shovlin was inducted into the American Heritage Blues Hall of Fame in September 2014.
They won the vote at the Atkinson, Big Blues Festival on the Little Acoustic Stage in Southport and will be supporting the main band at the Festival in 2018.
