Buzz Elliot
Buzz Elliott has been playing the guitar since he was a kid in the late 1960s. He’s a very versatile guitarist who plays all sorts of music – from blues-rock with the Bullfrogs to classic rock with Slagbank. He’s also well-known as lead guitarist with Cumbrian heavy metal band, Hammerhead. Over the years, he’s opened for an impressive list of rock and blues acts, including the Commitments, Walter Trout, Uriah Heep and Michael Schenker. His career highlight was when Glenn Tilbrook joined him on stage to sing the Squeeze hit ‘Up the Junction’. His other favourite band is the Beatles, and he has around 30 of their songs in his repertoire.
At Bowness Bay Blues, he’ll be playing an acoustic set, with plenty of gentle ballads, familiar covers and something to suit every taste.
You can catch him on Saturday evening at Ruskin’s Inn. Buzz is also co-owner of Workington Music Store
